I use a 3-step model

Identify

I will help the student identify their weaknesses in particular subject areas through examining teacher feedback, homework, and consultation. Too often, valuable feedback, a critical component of the learning process, is overlooked by students who are unable to process or implement recommendations.

Personalise

I will then help the student in creating personalised techniques to proactively address these weaknesses and create strategies to prevent careless mistakes or key errors from being repeated in future assessments.

Practice

I will ensure that the student is practicing applying these techniques through questions and revision sessions, as it is only through practicing the right things that perfection is made!

By signing up with me, you will receive

Extensive Content Notes

Access to my extensive OneNote content notes (condensed, highlighted notes from the syllabus and most common textbooks, including hand-drawn diagrams and images).

Pre-Exam Notes

Access to my extensive pre-exam notes (lists of the most common mistakes I and other students made to reinforce your confidence and increase your awareness immediately before the exam).

Unlimited Online Help

Unlimited online help outside of lesson times, including guidance with assignments and examinations.

Draft Marking and Feedback

Marking of draft assignments and personalised feedback on assessment task performance.

Hear what other students have to say

Josh is a highly organised and thoughtful tutor, able to skilfully communicate complex ideas in simple and understandable ways. As someone lacking experience in writing for stage 6 humanities, I found that Josh easily helped me to improve quickly with targeted feedback – allowing me to develop confidence in an unfamiliar style of writing and improve from a median LAT score in Y11 to a top score in Y12. Each session, Josh covered content with the highest level of efficiency and hence I can confidently recommend him as an excellent tutor.

— Justin

Joshua is a very thorough tutor who simplifies complex content into interesting analogies that aided my understanding of HSC Biology. I've learned a lot from him in a short amount of time and began to become more interested in the subject through his engaging teaching methods.

— Rebecca

Josh's commitment to academic excellence is surpassed only by his approachability and his desire to help others. His extensive notes on each of his subjects is a testament to his unrivaled knowledge of the syllabus, a quality that complements his strong communication and critical thinking skills in a way that allows me to confidently recommend him as a tutor for you or your child. I was fortunate to have Josh's assistance in breaking down content and the syllabus, which enabled me to reach my full academic potential. Notably, the breadth and depth of Josh's knowledge positioned him to give valuable feedback on my work for short/extended response questions, a common area of weakness for many students. The accessible feedback enabled me to continually improve through my HSC year, allowing me to consolidate my knowledge across all of my subjects. Ultimately, his structured and systematic approach to learning is matched by none, and I'm happy to wholeheartedly recommend him as a tutor for any student.

— Sid

Joshua was a very good tutor who quickly figured out what I didn't know and addressed it well. He was always approachable, friendly, on-time, and knew the syllabus content well. He really improved my marks and confidence, and I strongly recommend him if you're looking to learn anything, from starting a new subject from scratch or revising and practising before your exams.

— Rachel
