Hello, I'm Josh 👋

I'm a 2023 graduate from North Sydney Boys High School (ranked 1st in NSW 2023) and Medical Student at the University of New South Wales, the most in-demand undergraduate course. Having achieved a 99.90 ATAR and excellent results in standard HSC courses, external aptitude tests, and leadership activities, as well as my first choice of undergraduate medicine in each state I applied to, I feel that I am well placed to offer you or your child (from Year 7 to Year 12) a unique and highly individualised learning journey.

🎓

I am currently a UNSW All-Rounder Scholar for the BMed/MD (one of a very select group of students studying medicine on a per-annum scholarship). I was also awarded both the University of Sydney Chancellor's Award and the University of New South Wales' Scientia Scholarship in recognition of my outstanding academic achievements and dedication to extracurricular commitments, in addition to undergraduate med offers at 4 of the best universities in Australia.

🏆

I also received the NSW Minister for Education's Award for Excellence in Student Achievement, the highest possible commendation awarded by the Deputy Premier for all-round excellence in academics, leadership, volunteering, and extracurricular activities in service to the school and the community, in addition to countless other external events and achievements I was involved in.

💼

I work as a professional debating and speaking competition adjudicator for the NSW Department of Education, and volunteer at the UNSW Museum of Human Disease and Anatomy as a tutor/guide for HSC Biology students. I have had prior experience working in tutoring centres for HSC subjects and UCAT, including roles which required interstate travel and large classes.

😎

What differentiates me from other tutors with similar results and commendations is my pedagogical philosophy, which revolves around finding the perfect balance between guidance and self-directed learning; too often, students are either overly spoon-fed by doting teachers or tutors and lack the motivation and independent thinking skills to achieve success in their own pursuits, or left overwhelmed by a vast quantity of studying material and resources available in school and online without any structure or direction on how to fully take advantage of this information overload!
